Screencasting Introduction

Screencasting.. wow! I am totally impressed with what you are able to achieve by using it! Never have I used such a system like this to create a video that could be this informational. As a visional learner myself, navigating through the NWSL and UEFA Champions League website will provide all of you women’s soccer fans out there with two quality resources that can help one stay up to date with the latest news on this sport globally.

Not only are these websites available for the fans, but they also provide information for the teams, players, coaches and staff members in both leagues. With rosters, video clips, full matches, and weekly updates on injuries, schedules, suspensions, ect. these websites are often visited by the people involved in the league as well.  It’s essential to stay on top of all that is happening in one’s respective league, so therefore teams are putting themselves in the best position to be successful in their matches.

As a current collegiate player and U23 Women’s National Team player, I have hopes to join my teammates on the U23WNT in the NWSL or overseas by this time next year. My dream is to be a professional soccer player and represent our country on the biggest stage. I always tell people, you can probably find me on a soccer field somewhere, and that is because soccer is what I love to do and it is my passion. Playing, growing, learning, reaching goals, winning, losing all of it is part of my journey to one day being the best soccer player I can be. I hope to inspire others through the way I practice and play, and one day I hope to see my name on the roster of one of those professional teams on the two websites we explored.

Podcast Introduction

Creating my own personal podcast introduction was quite an experience. It was filled with happy, frustrating, satisfying and stressful moments. When all was said and done I have never been so relieved to post something I worked so hard on. I hope my listeners appreciate my effort and understand I put my best foot forward when creating my podcast introduction. Over the several hours of time I spent figuring out audacity, finding the right song for my background, writing my script, recording my script and uploading it to Sound Cloud I was completely bought in to finishing the assignment and doing it right. Despite all the challenges I faced along the way I was really appreciative for all the tutorials and helpful sites that I was able to use when I hit a bump in the road during this entire process.

With music fading in and out, a self-introduction and an introduction to my topic of discussion my goal was to leave the listeners or “soccer junkies” with a solid sense of what to expect by tuning into my podcast. My hopes are to interview world-class female soccer players from all around the world and have them share their journeys. These are the players that compete and bring their best every day and there are so many youth soccer players that can learn so much from them. I’m lucky enough to be at a point in my life where I am in contact with some of the top players to play this game, and that is through my experiences with the National Team. In a few days I am off to compete with the U23 WNT in La Manga, Spain and there I will be able to talk with many up and coming topnotch professional players from several different nations.

More information on my catchy header photo!

My website header contains two images that I acquired over my travels with the US National soccer team. My main photo is an image of myself walking on the game pitch prior to playing Japan in an international friendly. It was in last May that this photo was taken and the location of this match was all the way across the world in Papua New Guinea. My journey  to PNG with the national team was by far one of the most memorable soccer trips of my entire life. The people, culture and overall atmosphere was so different than anything I have ever experienced before. Playing in a stadium of this size filled with the locals chanting, “GO mighty mighty USA” was unbelievable. The second image is a photo of my teammates huddled up listening to our head coach speak prior to one of our training session.s What I love about this photo is how all of our attention is on our coach. Soccer is a beautiful game in my opinion because you are able to learn from certain coaches (soccer guru’s) who likely have an immense love and passion for the sport. What also makes this photo so amazing is knowing your teammates to your left and to your right are there for you and always have your back. The most successful teams I have been apart of are the ones where there was an incredible amount of trust between the players. We battle for each other, we sacrifice for each other, and we play for each other. These images were chosen for the reason that they mean so much to me and my journey up until this point in my career.

The images were combined using Pixlr. Prior to Pixlr I decided to edit my smaller image to black and white. It complimented my stadium photo well, and my teammates faces in the black and white filter are really emphasized, which makes it catchy and cool. I found the second photo to fit perfectly in the sky of the stadium picture when I combined the two images on Pixlr. I acquired these photos from our photographer named JK Wilson who took these photos on our trip to PNG. He is an exceptional photographer and he was kind enough to put all the photos he took on a flash drive for us so we all could have them. These photos illuminate women’s soccer, and with a little more information you can see specifically how these images tie in women’s soccer around the world because of where the photos were taken.

Welcome soccer junkies!

Welcome to my website about women’s soccer around the world! I started to build this site because of my newly learned understanding and knowledge about WordPress. This internet networking service supports millions of websites and allows an individual the tools to be dynamic and creative. WordPress acts as a host for websites, and gives me in particular the ability to share my knowledge, experiences and thoughts on the game I love, soccer. On my site there will also be information, stories and updates on world-class and influential players across the globe. First-hand I have seen how this game can influence and inspire women and girls around the world and it’s crucial that soccer lovers/fans have a website they can go visit to learn, explore and enjoy women’s soccer.

My love and passion for the game has made me into a type of person that is hardworking, driven and tenacious. I understand that if you want something in life you have to have the courage to go out and make it happen. I have lost many soccer games in my life, but it is those moments of defeat where I learn the most. I know if I give my best every single day there is a place in soccer history waiting for my future team, teammates, and self. In order to be the best you have to surround yourself with the best, and through my travels and my journey I can use what I have learned and help the future of the game for girls all over the world because I have been lucky enough to be around class people and players. This websites is for all ages and for all levels of soccer players. I hope educating and familiarizing people about women’s soccer around the world will help the growth and development of this sport.
